As interest in Korea spreads globally, there are many foreign students coming to Korea to study.

 

When foreign students want to apply to graduate schools in Korea, what qualifications do they need and what documents do they need? Let's take a look.

 

 

 

 

 

[Eligibility]

 

 

1. Both parents must be foreigners.

 

It’s only eligible for the international admission track when both the applicant and their parents hold foreign citizenship. If the applicant or their parents were Korean nationals in the past, they can apply only if they completed the process of renouncing or losing Korean nationality before the start date of the application submission.

 

2.    Awarded a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree

 

When applying for a master's program, you must have a bachelor's degree, and for the doctoral program, you must have a master's degree. For those who graduate from foreign universities, all courses must be completed by the end of February, and degrees must be conferred in March. Make sure to check the dates!

 

3.    Proficiency in Korean and English

 

Since most lectures are conducted in Korean and English, a certified language proficiency score above a certain level is required. As the required scores vary depending on the major, please check the language proficiency requirements for your major before taking the test

 

 

 

 

[Requirements]

 

1. Certificate of (expected) graduation or academic degree

2. Personal statemet and study plan

3. Proof of Language Proficiency (Korean and/or English)

    Only scores from certified language proficiency tests such as TOPIK, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, and new TEPS are accepted.

4. Nationality certificate of applicants

5. Nationality cerficate of parents

    As confirmed in the [Eligibility] section, only when both the applicant and their parents hold foreign citizenship can apply to the international admission track.

6. Certificate of parent-child relationship

7. Letters of recommendation

    Recommendation letters are usually optional, but many schools recommend their submission.

 

 

 

 

If you are applying to majors such as music, art, and physical education, you must also submit the materials that demonstrate your practical skills, in the form of a portfolio or video.
