Last week I went to the literary museum of poet Yoon Dong-ju.

Yoon Dong-ju is one of the best Korean poets. He wrote poems filled with anguish about life.

And as a fighter for independence, he wrote a poem about a hope for the independence.

The most famous poem of Yoon Dong-ju is ‘Sky, Wind, Star, and Poem’, and it’s still getting studied by Korean students.

So this is the museum. It looks quite small from outside, but there are more to see when you enter.

It is designated as a memorial facility in 2015.

First, I went to the Gallery 1.

The poem ‘White Shadow’ was written on the floor.

I was able to listen to the poem ‘Prologue’ with the voice of audio creater, Deul Mae.

Next to it, there were pictures of him and his life.

The title of Gallery 2 was ‘Opened Well’.

It says that through the opened ceiling, we can see the change of weather and through that, we are able to feel the change of our mind.

The poem might give you different feelings as your mind changes.

And if you walk by the path, there is Gallery 3, ‘Closed Well’.

Rough walls and the iron gate bring up an image of prison where Yoon Dong-ju died.

From there, a video of his life and the poem ‘Prologue’ was shown on a wall.

The museum of poet Yoon Dong-ju is nearby Seochon where you can visit lots of fancy restaurants and cafes.

So if you have a chance to visit Seochon, you can also try visiting the literacy museum of Yoon Dong-ju.
